Gergo Bolgovics
I was born on July 2, 1992, in Kisújszállás, Hungary. From a young age, I have been passionate about Hungarian folk dance, viewing it as a valuable means of community engagement, cultural preservation, and artistic expression. This passion has influenced my later studies: I have attended the Folk Art Vocational High School in Fót. In 2009, I joined the Ifjú Sviek Dance Theatre in Bratislava, where I dedicated four years to my development as a dancer. After that, I transitioned into dance education and the theatrical arts. From 2016, I served as a member of the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble in Budapest for four years. Currently, I work with multiple dance companies, taking on roles as a dance teacher, artistic director, and freelance dancer. The world of dance and theater has enriched my life in many ways. As I deepened my knowledge and experience, I recognized the importance of integrating various art forms alongside dance. Through my exploration of dance, literature, and music, I ultimately discovered a passion for painting. Today, I find that these artistic expressions complement and enrich one another in my work.

My visual approach is primarily built on honest gestures that represent and evoke human sensations and emotions. Within the avant-garde spectrum, i am inspired by a variety of styles and dynamics, and while it may be limiting to categorize my work precisely, I would describe it as leaning towards abstract expressionism. If i were to illustrate my artistic journey ina metaphorical bibliography, it would include elements like stairs, squares, lines, and circles, then lines again, progressing to a harmonious integration of these forms. Each phase of my work had its distinct form, which I embraced with enthusiasm. Lines evolved into squares, squares transformed into circles, and circles fragmented - this process is ongoing. One form naturally transitions into the next. For Many years, my work has been centered on exploring the social complexities of urban and rural life. Currently, I am more focused on human emotions and relationships. I believe that art should not be diminished to mere trends or decorative elements, while I also recognize the significance of aesthetics. Instead, art should serve as a bridge connecting humanity to the spiritual realm, independent of religious contexts. It should provoke deep contemplation - challenging us when necessary, providing release when required, and awakening us to important truths when the moment arises.

My credo in fine art emphasizes atmosphere, energy, and aura rather than a direct conveyance of specific meaning. While each painting carries a message, it is presented in an abstract manner. Each piece reflects the energy I express, which may lead to varied interpretations by the viewer. Engaging with this artistic realm requires openness and sensitivity, and it may serve as a catalyst for a broader dialogue on the societal theme: "Don't be afraid to feel".

I am a self-taught painter, a realization I came to approximately ten years ago. Since that time, I have had over ten exhibitions, which I view as significant milestones in my artistic journey rather than mere objectives. My work explores themes such as human relationships, the tension between urban and rural life, the experience of loneliness, and the significance of home. I believe that each individual contains a unique complexity, and I willingly embrace the unknown to later reflect on my emotions. The intricacies of human connections extend well beyond simply categorizing emotions as happy or unhappy. Intuition plays a crucial role in my creative process. It is an ancient instinct that we seem to use with increasing caution, unfortunately. My approach involves ongoing observation and analysis. I assess my insights from both objective and subjective perspectives before I begin to paint. If the finished piece lacks impact, it often indicates that the observation did not reach its full potential. This emotional rollercoaster reveals profound depths beneath the surface.

My journey into painting was unexpected, yet it feels like a calling. From a young age, I have sought a way to express my thoughts and emotions. Although I did not fully discover my artistic voice in stage, dance, writing, or music, I am now dedicated to conveying my experiences through painting.

I have reservations about self-serving art. I view the artist as a conduit-an individual who, through sensitivity, can capture subtle energies that resonate within us all. These expressions are made tangible and shared, allowing others to recognize the deeper meanings that may exist beneath the surface. I believe this ability is present in more individuals than they realize.
