This breathtaking sculptural form, affectionately titled “The Dancer,” is a one-of-a-kind redwood burl masterpiece — a natural formation discovered in a creek in the Santa Cruz Mountains over a decade ago. After years in quiet storage, it has finally been cleaned, sealed, and revealed in all its glory.
Standing approximately 5 feet tall, with a dynamic, twisting form that evokes movement and energy, this piece commands presence. The rich black sheen (sealed and lacquered) reveals the dramatic grain, swirls, and folds only time and nature can create.
This is more than a burl — it’s a natural sculpture, shaped by water, time, and fate. Whether it anchors a gallery space, office, modern home, or personal art collection, it tells a story of survival and movement.
